Don't listen to your heart

Why do you smoke if you know it's hurting you?
Why do you drink until you loose conscious?
I mean, why do you use drugs in order to cope with life?

Good questions.
What if we feel more confident and powerful destroying ourselves whenever heartbroken?
What if smoking, drinking, drugging, fucking around, eating junk food, popping pills are just habits that we decided to adopt in order to feel better about ourselves?
What if we do know ourselves and we decided to be more secular in order to feel more accepted in some groups?
What if it helps us sleep better at night?

But why are feelings so damn important?

They make us humans.

But you're not human anymore. You're a slave of your own feelings and thoughts. All day long your head is busy transforming or translating the surrounding world into feelings. So there's not much time nor space left for awesome thoughts to flourish. Where is your pragmatism? What does you rational brain have to say about your silly side? I miss the times when people were do-ers and had common sense. Why is so important what another ignorant human being thinks about you? What about the things that can't be measured in feelings? Feelings will get you nowhere! Heart is deceiving, but brain is strong and dependable.
Judging with your brain, please answer carefully to this question: why are you hurting yourself?
